It’s Summer Camp with your family!  Bring your clan down to Camp Wood YMCA for some bonding time doing unique and exciting activities!  As a parent, you may even find some down time for yourself!  If you have a child who is not quite ready to “go away” to camp alone, this is a great way to introduce all of the family to camp together.

The Great Family Escape
Dates: June 28-July 1

Escape to the Flint Hills for 3 days with the whole family!  For the kids, this exciting camp will feature the all-new “Midwest International Games,” for age-specific team-based activities, which will allow parents and siblings alike to have unique experiences to share with the rest of the family when you reunite for family time in the afternoons!  For a portion of the day, the kids will be busy with our first-rate camp staff so the parents can escape for some time together of their own.  Activities will include traditional summer camp events like canoeing, kayaking, arts & crafts, obstacle courses. Parents will be spoiled with coffee time and other activities, along with mom-specific and dad-specific activities that you can choose to join in; or you can simply spend time together on a walk, in your cabin, or anywhere else you’d like to be on camp.  Inter-family competitions like the renowned Camp Wood Chicken Chase will take place during afternoon family time.  Bring the family for some R & R and fun all wrapped up in a Summer Camp experience.

Raiders of the Lost Arts
Dates:  July 1-4

Once upon a time, people and families had to master certain skills to survive and thrive.  With this exciting new family camp program, Camp Wood YMCA is bringing families back in time!  Learn survival skills like starting fires without matches, outdoor cooking, and shelter building, as well as pioneering skills such as candlemaking, ropemaking, branding, and pioneer games.  Added to the mix will be some traditional camp activities, such as boating, and other thrilling all-camp activities with a bit of adventure thrown in.

Spend your time enjoying everything Camp Wood YMCA has to offer while our staff do all the work.  Everyone - whether veteran families that have attended camp for years, or a "first-year family" - leaves feeling like one big happy family.

Meals: Our meals are served buffet style to allow guests a chance to relax and have an enjoyable dining experience. A full salad bar is available at both lunch and dinner as well as a cereal bar at breakfast.  We do our best to cater to dietary restrictions, so please let us know and we will contact you if there are limitation to what we can provide.

All this and more are led by the heart and soul of Camp Wood YMCA— our staff. Whatever your age, we have an activity for you.
