Strickland Family Cabin

Our newest lodging option was completed in 2015 and offers a private two-bedroom, 2-bath stone cabin with a spectacular view of the surrounding Flint Hills from a large covered porch. In addition to two bedrooms, the cabin features two large sleeping lofts, each with 2 twin beds. The open-concept kitchen and living area, centered around a large stone fireplace, is the ideal gathering space for families and small groups. Sleeps 13.

Stone 1

If you're looking for a unique and comfortable space for your Flint Hills experience, this historic stone cabin is for you. Built early in Camp Wood's history as a home for the camp director, this cozy cabin offers a kitchen, living room with pull-out couch, a private bathroom and a large bedroom with two full beds. Before heading out to enjoy the surrounding area for the day, enjoy a stunning prairie sunrise with a cup of coffee or tea on one of two front porch swings. Later that night, you and your guests can roast marshmallows at the adjoining fire pit. Sleeps 6.

Stone 2

Modeled after one of Camp Wood's historic buildings, this new two bedroom, one bath stone cabin was built to comfortably accommodate groups of up to 6 people. It features a full kitchen, which is open to a large living area for group gatherings and meals. In contrast to Stone 1, this cabin has two separate bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The living area also offers a full size futon. Watch the stunning prairie sunrises each morning from the covered front porch and enjoy a campfire under the Flint Hills sky each evening at the adjoining fire pit.

Calhoun Health Center

Used during the summer to house the camp nurse, the Calhoun Health Center offers year-round accommodations for groups of up to 14 people. Inside, the main nurse's apartment features a kitchenette, a living area with a pull-out couch, a private bathroom and a bedroom with a double bed. The center also offers 5 additional bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds. These 5 bedrooms share two full bathrooms and a small lounge area. The center also boasts a covered porch.

Platform Tents

Available from mid-April to mid-October, these six platform tents offer a unique camping experience for your group. Each tent is equipped with 5 bunk beds and sleeps 10 people. Restroom and shower facilities are located at the nearby bathhouse. Your group will enjoy gathering for s'mores and conversation around the stone fire pit.

Koger Horse Pavillion

With 2 heated and air-conditioned classrooms, both indoor and outdoor riding arenas, a basketball court and 2 restrooms, the Koger Horse Pavillion offers a unique space for your group's event.

Hi-Y Hill and Preston Gleason Amphitheater

Hi-Y Hill is one of the most scenic locations on camp and provides a nearly 360 degree view of the surrounding Flint Hills. The outdoor limestone amphitheater offers ample seating, a stone fire ring, and a large table--sometimes used as an altar for marriage ceremonies. It is a perfect location to experience our spectacular prairie sunsets.

Jones Lodge

As one of Camp Wood YMCA's original buildings, Jones Lodge offers one large dining room, a kitchen, one small meeting room, two restrooms with shower facilities and five bedrooms that can accommodate up to 24 people total. In addition, it has a large stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove for cozy gatherings in the winter months.
