ABOUT SUMMER CAMPS
With a wide variety of safe and fun activities, Camp Wood YMCA is the ultimate summer camp for youth ages 7-17. Camp Wood YMCA campers receive life changing outdoor experiences at our traditional style summer camp. Three age-specific groups are designed to address the developmental needs of children during their summer activities
Our three age groups consist of 7-10 year olds, 11-17 year olds, and our IT programs designed for 14-17 year olds. Campers enrolled in our traditional camps participate in a week long Skill-Building session where they will develop new skills in a field of their choice, with the help of a knowledgeable, supportive instructor. These campers will also participate in Campers Choice, where the possibilities are endless, and change every day. Each afternoon at camp, cabin groups of 8 kids and one counselor participate in a variety of activities together.
Some of the activities include:
- Horseback trail rides
- Alpine climbing tower (ages 10 and up)
- Mud slide
- Gaga
- Fishing
- The “Jim” waterslide
- Arts and crafts
- Campfires
- Campout
- Nature hikes and activities
- Outdoor cooking
